LECTURES, TALKS & CULTURAL DIALOGUES IN 2026
In 2026, Ada has engaged in lectures, performances, and cultural dialogues across Goa and Sápmi, exploring decolonisation, Indigenous identity, storytelling, and cultural memory. From De-colonizing Santa Claus to moderating at the Arctic Arts Summit, her work builds bridges between Indigenous communities, amplifies their voices, and highlights the importance of self-determination and living cultural knowledge.

De-colonizing Santa Claus
As part of the Sunaparanta Art Initiator Lab in Goa, Ada led a session titled De-colonizing Santa Claus, inviting reflection on colonial narratives, cultural representation, and the ways traditions and symbols can be understood through Indigenous perspectives.
Street Play – Tromsø
At Vårscenefest 2026, Ada brought voices from Goa to Sápmi through Beaivi álo badjána – The Sun Always Rises: Messages from Horizon to Horizon. Representing the Saim Sakhe Sanguekar collective, she shared a story of how dance and music can protect land against exploitation, highlighting connections between Indigenous struggles in Goa and Sápmi.

Moderator at the Arctic Arts Summit
Ada moderated the panel Whose Memory, Whose Archive? Indigenous Documentation, Oral Traditions and Living Knowledge. Emerging from Sámi Lávdi’s Lávdi Instituhtta III project, the discussion explored Indigenous approaches to documentation and archiving, asking how oral traditions, joik, performance, movement, and land-based knowledge can be preserved without losing their living context. The panel emphasised ethical, relational, and Indigenous-led practices that support cultural continuity and self-determination.
Why India – Ada
Under the question Who’s telling the story? Who’s the other?, Ada reflected on her artistic journey in India, which began with a travel grant in 2014 and developed into numerous visits, performances, installations, lectures, and collaborative projects with Indian artists and local Indigenous communities. Her work explores identity, representation, and self-determination, building artistic connections across cultures and geographies.
